Hard discs do not come indestructible. With this fact in mind, you must always remember to copy your data onto a back up disc or two and keep them in a safe place to minimize your possible loss.

The number one cause for hard drive failure is magnetism. A strong magnetic field can completely wipe out your entire hard drive or seriously damage it. If you work in an area that has a high magnetic field, it is wise to proceed with caution when involving your computer system.
